Feeding Kids Well
Cooking’s Cool, a grass roots company, is on a mission to educate children about the benefits of eating and cooking healthy.
Childhood obesity is a leading health threat in our nation, and we hope to make a difference with our book series – Cooking’s Cool. We strive to empower children to learn that making healthy life choices is cool!
What Participants Say
Cooking’s Cool has helped me learn that I need to cook with my children so that they are interested in food. We read the recipes together and talk about how important it is to eat fun healthy food as a family. I wish every child could take the Cooking Cool classes and experience how fun food can be!

My sons have enjoyed Cooking’s Cool classes for years because they are kid friendly and fun, and they learn how to cook colorful and yummy recipes. As a mom, I am pleased because Cooking’s Cool classes and cookbooks are an asset to my parenting priorities. I have always tried to raise my kids to be independent people and healthy eaters, and Cooking’s Cool has helped me to instill these attributes in them. My boys love to cook on their own or help me make meals. Their culinary worlds have been opened and now they are always willing to try new recipes.

I am writing to inform you what a tremendous difference your Cooking’s Cool After School Program makes in our community. Childhood obesity continues to be a horrifying crisis in our nation which has more than doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescence in the past 30 years. Cooking’s Cool teaches children healthy eating habits and develop cooking skills to last a lifetime. Perhaps when the Every Child Achieved Act and the 21sth CCLC provisions are authorized, your program can be rolled out nationwide! Nutrition education is critical and certainly a part of the Cooking’s Cool program. Thanks for creating a terrific community asset. I hope you can grow into week long camps in the future.

Like many moms, I am always looking for fun and healthy ways to spend time together as a family. It can be challenging to find activities that promote healthy habits and entertain at the same time. This is why I am so grateful I found Cooking’s Cool! The books are filled with recipes that are easy to follow and have quickly become family favorites. Mrs. Sheff, the magical main character in the book series, is whimsical and shares wonderful lessons to accompany the meals we make. Now I find that we are having fun together in the kitchen and learning how to eat a rainbow every day! I can’t wait to see what comes next from Cooking’s Cool 🙂

The Cooking’s Cool cookbook has been a wonderful addition to my collection. I love to cook but as a mom of a three year old and 6 month old, I don’t have much time to prepare meals. This book gives me a wonderful selection of healthy recipes that are not only quick to prepare, but taste delicious. My three year old would agree! The colorful illustrations are such a nice touch, and as my girls get older they will love the many activities that go along with the recipes. A staple cookbook in my collection!

My son and daughter, ages 6 and 8, have taken Cooking’s Cool classes with Cindy for the past two years. Thanks to Cindy and Cooking’s Cool, my son (a former picky eater) has tried, and enjoyed, more foods than ever! Both my kids love the recipes from the Cooking’s Cool cookbook. They really enjoy planning a meal from the cookbook, looking for the ingredients at the grocery store and making the recipes together as a family. I highly recommend Cooking’s Cool for kids of all ages because planning, making and eating meals together is an activity that will bring your family together now and in years to come.

The Cooking’s Cool demonstration has come to our elementary school three times in the past year. We had an evening event last spring where parents learned different healthy recipes that are quick and easy to cook. This year, our school has used Cooking’s Cool as a Student of the Month reward. The students LOVED learning about and tasting healthy foods. The Cooking’s Cool demonstration incorporates and teaches families about MyPlate nutrition. Cindy and her staff are very easy and friendly to work with. They are engaging and knowledgeable about healthy eating. I highly recommend their services to other schools that want a fun, reasonable, and delicious cooking event!

You ladies were wonderful with the children! The kids were engaged for the length of the presentation and truly interested in learning how to make the alphabet soup which they LOVED! I emailed the recipe home to the families of my students and many of them went out bought the ingredients and made the recipe with their kids. How wonderful! How can we ask our students to be their best academically when the food that they put into their body doesn’t fuel them to the best of their ability. Hopefully this presentation can spark some healthy cooking at home. Would love to have these ladies back for another cooking class- maybe inviting the parents in to learn the recipes too!
